Our vision and values

At New Park Primary Academy, we have a vision and a set of principles which enable everyone at our school to build a deep, lifelong love of learning and develop the skills to be compassionate, innovative and authentic citizens. 

We achieve this by: 

• Nurturing: developing positive relationships, rooted in kindness, is central to both learning and wellbeing and is at the heart of everything we do.
• Growing: providing a secure environment with a stimulating curriculum, in which it is safe to make mistakes, enables skills, knowledge and confidence to grow. 
• Thriving: embracing curiosity and promoting opportunities for learning, provides a sense of belonging, ensuring that our community thrives. 

New Park Principles  

• Be Respectful – Chose words that are underpinned with kindness. Take turns when speaking and listen to understand what others are trying to say. Be kind to your environment. 
• Be Responsible –Come to school prepared for the day or seek out help if you need it. Organise and look after your own and shared belongings. Take accountability for your own behaviours and contribute positively to the school community.  
• Be Ready to Learn –Listen carefully to adult instructions and follow them.  Seek out adult help when you need it, if you cannot solve a problem on your own. Always try your best. 

Our River Journey

At New Park Primary Academy, our classes are named after rivers that take children on a journey from local to global. Children begin with Yorkshire rivers close to home before exploring rivers from across England, Europe, Africa and South America. This progression helps children develop a strong sense of belonging to their local community while expanding their understanding of the wider world. Like a river's journey from source to sea, every child's journey through New Park is one of growth, discovery and endless possibility.
