We focus on the essentials that give your child a strong foundation for success, both in school and beyond: 

• Reading – We want every child to love reading. Through phonics, storytelling, and time to get lost in books, we help them become fluent, confident readers who understand and enjoy what they read. 

• Writing – Whether it’s a story, a letter or a report, children learn to write with purpose and imagination. We build grammar and vocabulary step by step, encouraging children to take pride in their writing. 

• Maths – We teach maths in a way that makes sense and feels exciting. Children learn to problem-solve, reason and apply number skills with growing independence and confidence. 

• Science – Children become young scientists as they ask big questions, carry out hands-on investigations, and explore how the world works — from mini beasts to outer space! 

• History – Through engaging stories, artefacts, and explorations of the past, children learn about important people, events and civilisations that have shaped the world. History helps them understand change over time and the impact of the past on our lives today. 

• Geography – Geography sparks curiosity about the world. Children learn about places near and far, natural features like rivers and mountains, and how people interact with their environments. It helps them become informed and caring global citizens. 

• Physical Education – Active bodies, active minds! In PE, children develop coordination, teamwork and confidence through fun, active lessons. From dance to team games, we help every child enjoy moving and build healthy habits for life. 

School is about more than just facts and figures. We want every child to thrive socially, emotionally and creatively too. That’s where our personal development curriculum comes in: 

• PSHE (Personal, Social, Health & Economic Education) – We help children understand themselves, build healthy relationships, and feel confident navigating the world around them. 

• Religious Education – Children explore different faiths and beliefs with curiosity and respect, learning about shared values and celebrating diversity. 

• Computing – From coding and digital creativity to understanding how to stay safe online, children learn to be confident and responsible users of technology in a digital world. 

• Spanish – Hola! Our fun and interactive Spanish lessons open the door to new cultures and languages, laying the groundwork for global citizenship. 

• Art – Every child is an artist in their own way! We provide opportunities to experiment with colour, texture, and technique, while discovering famous artists from around the world. 

• Design & Technology – From building to baking, our DT lessons give children the chance to design, make and evaluate real-life projects using their creativity and problem-solving skills. 

• Music – Music brings joy to our school. Children learn to sing, compose and perform – whether it's in the classroom, in choir, or during our special performances. 

Across our school day, you’ll find pathways that add depth, meaning and excitement to your child’s learning: 

• Climate Change Education – Children learn about sustainability and the environment, and how they can make a difference for the planet. 

• Outdoor Education – We take learning outside! Nature walks, forest school sessions and outdoor exploration help build confidence, teamwork and wellbeing. 

• Interoception – We teach children to notice and understand what’s going on inside their bodies and minds. It helps them regulate emotions, build resilience and stay calm and focused. 

• Educational Visits – Learning leaps off the page when we go out into the world. From museums to nature reserves, every trip connects to classroom learning. 

• Clubs & Extra-Curricular Activities – Whether it’s sports, arts, coding or gardening, there’s something for every child to enjoy and explore after school. 

• Oracy – We help children find their voice. Through discussion, debate and storytelling, they grow in confidence and learn to listen and speak with clarity and respect. 

• Singing for Learning – Songs help us learn! We use singing across the curriculum to build memory, boost wellbeing and bring joy to our learning. 

• Performances  – Every child has the opportunity to take part in performances throughout the year. These special moments build confidence, teamwork and pride in their achievements. 

• Student Leadership – We give children a say in how our school runs. From school councillors to eco-champions, there are plenty of chances to lead and make a difference.
