Wharfe Class - Year 2

Welcome to Wharfe Class!

Named after the River Wharfe, which winds through the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and local communities, Wharfe Class celebrates growth, exploration and perseverance. Just as the river continues its journey through changing landscapes, our children build confidence and independence as they progress through Year 2.

We are extremely proud of our Year 2 class at New Park Primary Academy. We create a welcoming and supportive environment where all children feel valued, safe and encouraged to achieve their very best. Through positive relationships and high expectations, children develop resilience, kindness and a growing sense of responsibility for their learning.

Our broad and engaging curriculum builds upon the strong foundations established in the Early Years and Key Stage 1. Children are encouraged to think critically, ask questions and develop their skills across all areas of learning. Through exciting experiences and carefully planned opportunities, we inspire curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

Your class teachers are Mrs Lumley, Monday & Tuesday, and Mrs Farnsworth, Wednesday to Friday.

The other adults who support with Year 2 are Mrs Thackwray and Mrs Edmunds.
